The Role
Primarily the Children’s Services Educator is responsible for supporting the educational and developmental needs of the children at our centre through assisting with the preparation, implementation and evaluation of suitable programs.
Specifically, the role supports the provision of high quality childcare by:
- Nurturing and providing guidance to children from birth through to age six years
- Working with children individually or in groups to support growth and learning
- Implementing activities to assist children in reaching their full potential
- Following Centre Policy and approaching behaviour guidance positively with children
About You
You are a creative and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about early learning. Your positive interaction skills with children and demonstrated ability to support children’s learning will be what help you succeed in this role.
Qualifications and Experience
You will have:
- A Diploma in Children’s Services
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (or willingness to obtain in first 6 months of employment)
- Successful completion of relevant responding to abuse and neglect training
- Proven ability to interact with children in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner
- Ability to work with other team members in the inclusion, support and care of all children
- Knowledge of current child care practices and the Early Years Learning Framework
- Knowledge of Licensing Regulations under the relevant Act
- Knowledge of maintenance of health and safety of children in care
- Experience interacting with groups of children up to school age
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Current DHS Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one at your own cost
- Appropriate skills, knowledge and training in food safety and hygienic handling of food and equipment as required under the Food Safety Legislation 2001

This role is based at our Torrensville Community Childcare Centre.
